God and Man in Perfect Union Introduction “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (II Timothy 3:16-17). Learning the Word of God has been a goal in my life right from my childhood. It has been a light that guided my steps through dark paths; it has provided the divine principle that governs my life. It has also been a source of encouragement when I was faced with adverse circumstances and sufferings in my life. It is my only hope in this world of terror and anguish. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). During a time when the Word of God is interpreted, taught, and practiced throughout the world in diverse manners, it is our responsibility as true Christians and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, to rightly divide the Word of God, so that we may not be driven to and fro with false teachings. “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (II Timothy 3:13- 15). One thing that you will find unique in this book is that Christ is the focus of every chapter, and the truth of redemption is brought forth through the various shadows and types. This book shows who Christ is and how He can really help you cope with your day to day problems and how you can find real peace and joy, in the midst of adverse circumstances of life. This book is a collection of topics that will briefly describe how man with all his imperfections is perfectly united to Christ by God. As you read this book, you will see the perfection of God through topics like—“The Sovereignty of God,” “The Righteousness of God,” and “The Love of God.” The more you read about God’s glory and majesty, the more you will find yourself to be sinful and unworthy. This should necessitate a desire within you to draw closer to God and rely on His power to save you from the power of Satan and sin. The imperfections of man are best portrayed through topics like—“Lost and Found,” “Criminals: Can They be Freed?” and “Justified by Faith.” The Bible teaches that sinful men can never approach this God who is holy and sinless. Even though man was made in the image of God to have perfect fellowship and communion with God, he rebelled and disobeyed God, and as a result, he broke that perfect relationship with God. “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life” (Genesis 3:24). In order to reunite and establish that broken fellowship, God sent His only Son—Jesus Christ—into this world, to pay the price of your redemption by dying in your place on the cross. Hence, you will find throughout this book that only a person who has accepted Christ as his or her personal Savior is united to Christ, and enjoys the blessings of this perfect union. Any other forms of commitment or associations—one that does not have Christ as the focal point of his or her relationship, will not meet the plan of God for his or her perfection. I present this book to you with the sole purpose of glorifying God and
with this humble prayer that you may be part of that perfect union, and
that it may be a source of edification and enrichment for your spiritual
life and your daily walk with the Lord.
